Hiya pals!
Today we’ll be talking about our Top 5 favorite rides in EPCOT! This is my second favorite park. We love World Showcase and the fun festivals, but today we’re talking RIDES!
Follow along with us as we talk about our favorites and why we like them!
#5 Becky: Test Track
Looking for a thrill ride for the whole family? No worries, check out Test Track. Come sit in a car fitted for 6 and enjoy a ride while driving through different testing scenarios! Make sure to hold on tight, you may check break power, speed, and swerve ability.
Test Track is family friendly, however there is a height requirement. Make sure to check before getting in line if you have little ones. In the pre-ride show room, you get the chance to build your dream virtual car!
I first experienced this ride in the summer of ’09 with my family needless to say we all had a blast! You never know which way you’re going until it happens! Such a blast!
#5 Krysta: Journey into Imagination with Figment
Imagine meeting a small purple dragon who turns the world upside down all to a catchy tune. Now, imagine no more and go get in line! Located near Image Works tucked back in the corner is this often-forgotten ride. Journey is a fun a quirky ride, and equally as important it is family friendly.
Figment convinces you to let your imagination run wild and shows you not everything is as it seems. We love the songs Figment sings and the short wait times! The ride exits into a large interactive room where you can meet characters and play games. We always create our own figment on the computers! This is a great ride and place to escape the rain if needed too.
#4 Becky: Spaceship Earth
Spaceship Earth is such a unique ride! It is the first ride as you enter the park. Located in the giant white globe, you enter a special time capsule. Enter into history like nothing experienced before. Sit back, relax, and enjoy a slow ride while listening and watching the past unfold.
As you enter your seat, you get to plan your future. A screen in your seat will ask you different questions to help you prepare for a future that could be. It’s a fun way to get the kids a little more involved and adults get an opportunity to see how things could be a little different.
One of my favorite parts of the ride is the star room. Near the end of the ride, you enter a dark room, and it seems you are floating through space. Talk about relaxing!
#4 Krysta: Living with the Land
Want a ride that is both educational and fun? The first portion of the ride depicts various landscapes found throughout our region. Keep an eye out to see if you can spot the rotating restaurant located above the ride.
Next, you’ll see how EPCOT scientists are working around the world to diversify and advance agriculture. Lastly, you’ll float through the greenhouse and see how crops are grown and learn how to help even in your backyard. See if you can spot Mickey in a few spots throughout the ride.
We love the boat ride and seeing the greenhouse portion change with the seasons.
#3 Becky: Gran Fiesta Tour featuring the Three Caballeros
Located in the gorgeous Mexico Pavillion, this slow boat ride is a fiesta! You and your little ones will have a great time watching Donald Duck attempt to get to his Mariachi band, the Three Caballeros!
As you slowly float along, you get to explore different parts of Mexico. This colorful ride is beautiful, and the music is festive! You are sure to be dancing in your seat! Enjoy the Three Caballeros preform while the ride nears the end! Make sure to spot a Mickey in those fireworks! You can’t go wrong with this ride!
#3 Krysta: Remys Ratatouille Adventure
The newest ride in EPCOT (for now) is so much fun! Lines for Ratatouille can get long. I suggest getting there right at rope drop or later in the evening. I think as the newer ride opens the lines for Remy’s will not be as long. You’ll shrink down to the size of a rat, Don 3-D glasses and go on an adventure with Remy. Beware of mousetraps and people!
This ride is fun fast and can be a challenge for those prone to motion sickness, like me. I close my eyes through parts of the 3-D portion, but it’s still a ton of fun!
#2 Becky: The Seas with Nemo and Friends
Fish are friends, not food! Enter the ocean and go on an adventure with Marlen and Dory as they attempt to find Nemo! This ride is essentially the movie in ride form. At the conclusion of the ride, you will find yourself placed in the middle of an aquarium!
You will find fish, sharks, dolphins, and even manatees! I could spend hours walking around looking around and exploring. There is even a picture opportunity with Bruce the shark! Don’t get eaten!
If you have the time, be sure to catch Turtle talk with Crush. I experienced turtle talk for the first-time last January, it did not disappoint! Crush the sea turtle stops in for a visit and literally talks to you! You get to exchange questions and have a fun time in true Crush fasion! Adults, you get the opportunity to participate too! Trust me, you will leave laughing!
#2 Krysta: Frozen Ever After
Even though Frozen has been around for a long time, the line can get incredibly long! I suggest trying an Individual Lightening Lane for this one if you really want to ride.
Located in the Norway pavilion you’ll board a boat and join Anna, Elsa and friends on a ride to the North Mountain and back again. There are a few small drops on this ride, as a result you might get a little wet.
#1 Kryst and Becky: Soarin Around the World
Want to travel the world? You can do it here! We Love this ride, and you will too! Come take a seat and soar to places you can only dream of!
Seated in long rows, you are taken everywhere from the frozen arctic to Polynesian islands. From France to the safari in Africa! Fly over the Great wall of China and make a final landing in Epcot! Not only is Soarin visually stunning, but you also experience different smells as you fly into different scenes. You will leave wanting to fly again!
Epcot does not have many rides compared to other Disney parks, nevertheless the rides are special and fun! Opening soon is the new rollercoaster: Guardians of the Galaxy Cosmic Rewind! This will be a backwards launching coaster, the first of its kind.
New Attractions
In addition, coming soon to Epcot is the Moana inspired attraction, Journey of Water. With new technology you and your family will be able to interact with water in new ways, according to Disney.
In the back of the pack, there is Mission Space. Located near test track and the new Guardians ride, you are sure to experience something completely new. There are two sides to Mission Space. If you are not the daring kind, we highly recommend the tame side. This ride can be a bit much. Not recommended for little ones.
We listed our favorites, but maybe you should check them out for yourself! When you do, or if you have, comment down below and tell us your must DO’s while at Epcot!
