Top 5 Magic Kingdom Rides

Hiya pals!

Magic Kingdom is a huge park and has an abundance of rides and attractions. Is it even possible to get it all done in one day? It really is not. However, both of us have listed our current top 5 rides in Magic Kingdom. Hopefully this list will help you decide which ride sounds like a good choice for you! Let’s check out our favorites!

Gorgeous

#5 Becky: Space Mountain

Ready to soar through space? Sitting in small carts of 6, you will zip around in a near pitch black room. Listen carefully and you will hear the sound of other carts buzzing by. I love this ride. If you love a good thrill and love to laugh, I highly recommend Space Mountain!

During Halloween and Christmas Space Mountain is given a fun overlay to make it a little extra exciting during those holidays.

#5 Krysta: Barnstormer

This is a more recent favorite of mine. I remember riding it in my childhood and liking it. This last trip, my six-year-old son rode and loved it! The ride queue is partially shaded and shows the theming of the ride. The Great Goofini is doing some stunts and by the looks of it, it isn’t going well. In true goof fashion- he’s left some very familiar shaped holes in line and on the ride.

This is a mild roller coaster, where you board a plane and join in the fun. It’s a must do for younger kids who want to do the big rides, but don’t momentarily measure up. You must be 35” to enjoy this attraction.

#4 Becky: Pirates of the Caribbean

This classic Disney ride is hard to beat. Sit back and enjoy a thrilling boat ride through a town taken over by pirates!

Every single member of your travel party will have a swashbuckling time. Keep an eye open for Capitan Jack Sparrow! Be warned, there is a small drop on this ride, for this reason you will get wet!

Ye Be Warned!

#4 Krysta: The Many Adventures of Winnie the Pooh

Have you ever ridden in a honeypot through the hundred-acre wood? Now you can! You’ll go bouncing with Tigger, floating through the rain with piglet, and see hefulumps and woozles in Pooh’s dreamlike state.

This movie and ride have been a favorite of mine since childhood, there’s nothing like it! In fact, while parents stay in line, there is a play area for the little ones! Even some characters are hiding in honey for you to uncover. This ride is a must do every single trip.

#3 Becky: Big Thunder Railroad

Better hold on to your hats, it’s the wildest ride in the wilderness, or so they say! Set in the wild west, you will embark on a wild adventure through the desert and mountains. You may want to hold on tight, this ride can be pretty crazy.

Thunder Mountain is thrilling for everyone and every size. Your little ones, who may not be so little anymore, are sure to have a wild time. By all means enjoy the beautiful views of Cinderella castle while looking around! It is even more magical if you can ride during the nighttime fireworks!

#3 Krysta: The Haunted Mansion

999 happy haunts call this attraction home, but there’s always room for more. Will you be willing to take a ride? Maybe a ghost will follow you home. If the wait time ever says 13 minutes you can be sure the ride is walk on! The queue has a hidden murder mystery for the older ones to solve. Look for the stone busts in line and see if you can figure out who the murderer is.

Once inside, a Ghost Host welcomes you. There are several rooms of spooks in the mansion. Keep your eye open for in the attic you’ll find the bride. Be sure to hold on tight to your doom buggy-you may be pushed out the attic window and fall to the graveyard below. We love this ride for its quirks and thrills! It’s a nice, air-conditioned spot for those hot afternoons, and isn’t too scary for the younger riders.

Inside the Haunted Mansion

#2 Becky: Little Mermaid: Voyage Under the Sea

Hop in an oyster shell and take a wonderful journey into different parts of the classic Disney movie. Silly Scuttle will be your story narrator. You will see all of our favorite characters and hear all our favorite songs. Ursula and her minions make an appearance as well.

I love this ride for the pure happiness it brings. Takes me back to my childhood. You can’t leave without a smile on your face and a song escaping your mouth.

I’ve got whosits and whatsits galore!

#2 Krysta: Splash Mountain

Briar patch is home to Brer Rabbit. For this reason, Brer Fox and Brer Bear try to catch him. Will they be successful? You’ll find out on this water ride. Splash is the name; you will get wet!

Splash Mountain is the perfect place to watch the fireworks at night and escape the hot Florida heat during the day.

You must be 40” to ride this ride. It does have one giant drop and several smaller ones through the ride. This is a must do every trip, I’ll be sad when Disney re-themes this attraction to Princess and the Frog.

This ride has recently been transformed into Princess Tiana’s Bayou Adventure. Many were upset this classic ride has been replaced, however the new ride is adorable, and we are so happy with the change.

#1 Becky: The People Mover

PeopleMover is a great relaxing family attraction. Located in Tomorrowland, you will take an escalator up and board a gliding open-air tram. Each pod sits up to 4. If you have issues riding backwards you need to pay attention to the direction you choose to sit.

As you venture into different buildings, you get to see and hear how Walt Disney visioned some of his various projects like EPCOT. Sit back, relax and enjoy as you take in all the sights and sounds of Tomorrowland!

I cannot recommend this ride enough. Love it!

#1 Krysta: Peter Pans Flight

My number 1 favorite ride is always our first ride in Magic Kingdom. All of us love it! We do this one several times per trip! It is iconic to MK. The queue is interactive and fun for kids. You can download Disney’s Play parks app and have even more fun!

Once on board your pirate ship you are sprinkled with pixie dust and flying over the streets of London. Be sure to keep an eye out for Mermaid Lagoon, Captain Hook, and the tic-toc-croc! The wait times for this ride can be really long. I suggest getting in line right away in the morning, or in the evening if possible. There’s nothing like riding this opening day attraction. It is truly a classic.

I don’t want to grow up!

Honorable Mention Becky: Buzz Lightyear Space Ranger Spin

If you’re like me, a bit competitive and just a kid at heart, you will love this ride. Stepping into a spaceship with a buddy, you will take aim and blast targets to defeat Emperor Zerg. This classic shoot um up game is sure to leave you and your party competing to see who has the most points. Don’t worry, you will discover what level space ranger you are at the very end!

My Dad and I got into a friendly competition!

Honorable Mention Krysta: Dumbo the Flying Elephant

Attention ladies and gentlemen step right up and take flight on the eighth wonder of the world. Flying aboard Dumbo will become the highlight of your trip with young kids.

Dumbo is a circus themed ride while you play inside instead of waiting in line! Play time is built into your wait. You can use the leaver to make Dumbo fly higher or lower. Be sure to keep an eye out for castle views!
