Hiya Pals! We’re currently sitting in the Caribbean Beach Resort Lounge and thought why not update you on our trip. We have had such a great time here in Disney and have consumed a lot of delicious food. Here’s our review of a dinner at Sebastian’s Bistro- just one of the places we ate this trip.
Sebastian’s Bistro is located in Disney’s Caribbean Beach Resort. Sitting just off the main lobby near the main pool, it’s located on Bear Paw Lake and the whole restaurant gives off cool ocean vibes. Additionally, it is really relaxing, and a lot of fun! So, let’s cut to the chase and jump right in!
Our Food
The food here is served family style and is mouthwatering from the start. First, it starts out with the pull-apart rolls served with butter and an onion jam. I’m not sure why I’ve never had onion jam before, but I need it in my life from now on. They also bring a large salad that has a citrus dressing, pumpkin seeds and candied walnuts.
Main Course
Next, they bring the main course which they aptly call Taste of the Caribbean. It has citrus chicken, Mojo pork, and grilled flank steak. The side dishes are cilantro rice and beans, grilled broccolini, and mixed vegetable curry.
Dessert
Finally, they bring dessert. Coconut-pineapple bread pudding. It’s served with warm caramel sauce and vanilla ice cream! It’s the perfect way to end this island meal! A dinner at Sebastians Bistro is one of a kind!
Ambiance & Extras
Not only were we were lucky enough to get a corner table near all the windows, but it was perfect for viewing the EPCOT fireworks! It was a great start to our travels! The whole restaurant has a very Caribbean feel to it, and features lots of blues and greens with a hint of characters thrown in. You’ll find Sebastion himself in the paintings and in the check in area along with Flounder and maybe a few other friends.
Our Thoughts
The food is absolutely amazing! The portion sizes are great to start, and you can ask for more of anything. As I said before the onion jam is amazing, it’s sweet and smokey and a great topper to the warm rolls. The sides are perfectly paired to not overwhelm the flavors of the meat, but they’re good enough to make me think being a vegetarian is a possibility. The grilled broccolini was my favorite, while Becky’s favorite was the cilantro rice and beans. The three meats are perfectly seasoned. The only downside I had here was they told us the steak was prepared medium to medium well, and I would say ours was definitely more on the rare side of medium, but it was still really good.
The bread pudding was an excellent end to the meal! It was not heavy on the coconut, so if you have someone in your party who doesn’t like it, I think they might still want to give it a try. You pour the caramel sauce over the entire dish yourself, which brings a fun aspect to the dessert.
Overall, I would have a dinner at Sebastians Bistro again, and if I’m near the resort I would try to get a reservation, but I’m not sure this would be worth hopping to from somewhere else. While the food was delicious, there are lots of good choices wherever you may be. If you stay at Caribbean Beach or somewhere close on the Skyliner it’s definitely worth the visit.
