The Art of Animation Immersive Experience

HiYa Pals!

This past summer, Krysta and I both had the opportunity to travel to Branson, Missouri, to experience Disney’s The Art of Animation Immersive Experience. Was it worth it? Was it fun? Keep reading and we will let you know our thoughts.

What is it?

Disney put together a fun family experience together to celebrate the animation and art history of the Disney company. In this experience you will discover new and interesting facts about Disney animators, creators and the like.

Not only will you have the opportunity to encounter new things about animation, but you will be surrounded by some of your favorite Disney movies and songs!

Be sure to get your tickets fast for the experience is only being offered in Branson until mid-January. There is also a Vegas location alongside a few other spots around the globe.

What is inside?

Once you have checked in for your time slot, you get to enter the first of two massive rooms.

In the first room, you will find a variety of things to look at and do. There are a few photo opportunities. Walk around and read all about different animators and the creative process. In the middle of the room is a giant table with paper and all sorts of Disney sketches you can create. If you would like, you can enter your art into the Disney Vault and have it displayed in the show room! The kids, and even the adults really enjoyed this fun little perk.

Villans

In the back of the room was a concession area with a plethora of items to choose from if you get hungry or need a drink. Head over to the side and take a seat in the Villans Lounge. Are you a Villans fan? This fun area of the show room has close to every villain displayed or represented in some capacity.

If your little ones have a hard time with loud noises or get overwhelmed this is a great area to escape the chaos in exchange for some quiet.

After your hour or so in the first show room, a cast member calls everyone over the Vault, and you will then be let into the second room where the show will happen. As you walk into this enormous room, which felt like it went on forever, look down and the floor is interactive. The further you explore, notice the room is 360 degrees of giant floor to ceiling screens. Look around and you will notice all sorts of familiar Disney characters and elements. Then the showroom goes dark, and the show begins.

Mickey comes to life on screen and the magic happens. You are engulfed in Disney songs and movies.

My family thoroughly enjoyed the show. It was fun, memorable, and not gonna lie, even had me in my emotions a little. A tear or two may have fallen. It was so nostalgic and fun.

Be sure to stay close to the center of the room by the giant posts. There may be a surprise or two for the little ones, that may float down during a song or two! Definitely added to the magic!

I absolutely loved watching my family enjoy the show. We all danced, sang and had a really good time. My heart full that day.

The show itself is just under an hour. Surprisingly it goes by pretty fast. And just like that it was time to exit the room.

After the Vault

Exiting the showroom, making your way to the exit, there is the gift shop. In true Disney fashion, there was a plethora of merchandise to look at.

Final Thoughts

Overall, I thought The Art of Animation Immersive Experience was a great time. Was it worth the price? Maybe not. It was fun and we all full enjoyed ourselves.

If you are not a Disney person or a Disney family, I would say you would be just fine skipping it. However, if you are looking for a little magic then go and have a great time.
