Some old and some new.

HiYa Pals! Happy New Year! I hope this blog is finding you well. It has been a while since we last posted. Your patience is very appreciated, but we are happy to be back and hope to post on a more regular basis. While we have been away Disney has done quite a bit and we want to give you an update on some information you may want to know. So, let’s dive into some old and some new news!

Some Old

Disney is always changing and evolving. Sometimes is it easy to forget or overlook some of the simpler things about your trip. I wanted to go over a few of those things to help you plan or take note of just in case.

Resort Mugs

When you take a Disney vacation and stay on property you have the ability to purchase a resort mug. With the purchase of this mug, you have access to unlimited soda, water, coffee and hot chocolate while at a resort. You can bring them with you into a park, but you cannot refill them while in a park.

I believe you can currently purchase them for around 21 dollars per cup. The mugs are not mandatory; however, they can be nice to have if you have a resort day or if you plan on eating frequently at your resort’s food court area.

Once purchased and activated, the mugs are good to use for your trip! We have purchased them in the past and they were lovely to have on hand.

Magic Bands

We love magic bands. They are simple, get everything done, and can be really fun and cute. lol Thats the least of the reasons to have one but still.

Disney offers the magic band and magic bands plus. The newer magic band plus are a bit more expensive but are interactive with different elements around the parks and even some fireworks shows.

While some people love to get a new magic band every time they go to Disney, it is not necessary. Disney has a way of making sure they are active in your account even if you use it for more than one trip. You can have more than one if you want. However, one is all you absolutely need.

Making requests

Bringing little ones to Disney? Worried about sleeping arrangements and how to pack the appropriate equipment? Don’t worry, Disney has you covered!

When planning your trip you can put in a special request for bed rails, a pack n’ play or even a roll away crib. You don’t even have to pre-request them. The day you arrive, you can either call the front desk or head to the main lobby and talk to someone about what you need. Cast members are happy to help you. Those things are free of charge.

I suggest packing a sheet from home for your littles, so they have the smell of home with them while they sleep.

Transportation

We have discussed this in several other blogs. Check out our Disney Transportation blog here.

But instead of using your own car to get around why not utilize the free transportation Disney offers. Our favorite is the Skyliner!

Utilize a Travel Agent!

Some new!

Now lets talk a few of the new happenings at Disney!

Epcot

It seems like Epcot has been under construction forever. It’s been several years. Things are finally starting to shape up. The new Moana interactive water area is open. It’s awesome! The new Walt statue and entire center of the park is open, and we are here for it! It has been way to long since those walls were down, and we are happy those walls are gone!

While some walls come down other changes will be happening soon. Test track is going to be updated soon.

There is a new event building still under construction and will hopefully be opening within the year.

So many fun and exciting things happening.

Magic Kingdom

Splash Mountain is no more. Tiana’s Bayou adventure is opening in 2024 according to Disney. I am excited to check out the changes.

Tron is officially open and has been for a while. There currently is no regular line for Tron. You have to get a boarding group or an individual lightning lane to ride.

The Dining Plan is back.

Its back everyone. Some loved it others could care less. But for those of you who do care you can breathe easy again.

There have been several changes to those offerings, but you can check those out either with your travel agent or on Disney’s website. Here is the link to do so!

Park Hopping

No more waiting till 2pm to park hop. As of Jan 9th of 2024, if you have a park hopper ticket you can hop to another park any time you want!

Some old some new.

Disney is always changing. New construction walls, new food items to try, new merchandise to check out. They are always keeping us on our toes. And well we love it.

This is just the tip of the iceberg from Disney. We can’t wait to see what news they come out with next.

Hopefully this information will help you with your planning and future plans.
