Lunch at Liberty Tree Tavern!

HiYa Pals!

Hopefully summer is treating you well and you are able to relax a little! I hope your heart is happy and your bellies are full! Speaking of full bellies let me tell you about a restaurant in Magic Kingdom. Let’s go have lunch at Liberty Tree Tavern!

If you want to see a quick video on Liberty Tree Tavern and more, check out our other social media platforms. You can find us on Instagram, Tik Tok, and Pinterest, under midwestdisneylife. We hope to see you there!

Where is it?

Liberty Tree Tavern is located in Liberty Square in Magic Kingdom. It is neighboring the Diamond Horseshoe and faces the Liberty Square Riverboat. There is a green sign on a white post reading the name of this pretty cool spot. If you want directions from inside the park, you can open your MDE, type in Liberty Tree Tavern and a walking map can be given!

Atmosphere

Inside of the restaurant you will find it is themed to the colonial time period, as is much of Liberty Square. Upon check-in, you will enter into the waiting area. There is plenty of seating, a large fireplace, and decor to match.

It does feel like you are entering an old-time tavern. The floors are wood and squeaky. Cast members are in time period costumes making it feel a bit more authentic. There is multi-level seating, and the ceiling is a tad lower, giving an older feel. Restrooms are located on the second floor. They have kept to theme because it is a small, two stalled bathroom. None the less it gets the job done.

Tables and chairs are all wooden and stained a dark color, adding to the tavern feel. It’s a fun unique place to dine at. I would gladly go back.

The food

Ok let’s get into it. The food here is great. The best way to describe the food would be to say it is similar to a traditional American thanksgiving meal. You can find a more detailed menu on the MDE.

Food is served all you care to enjoy style. Lunch and Dinner meals are the same and the price is the same for both as well. Adults are $39 per meal and kids are $21. They do have other options for those with allergies or have different needs. They also serve a plethora of alcoholic beverages.

To start off everyone gets warm rolls with butter and the Declaration Salad. It is light and refreshing. The dressing is delightful. If I could eat that salad every day, I would.

Main Course

The second round is the big one. Once the salad has dwindled down or finished, out comes the Patriots Platter. Included is roasted turkey, pot roast, oven-roasted pork, mashed potatoes, green beans, stuffing and mac and cheese. Now that’s just for one person! Everyone gets their own! What? But let me tell you, if you are a fan of thanksgiving or this kind of food in general, more than likely you will enjoy this food.

Everything was fantastic. There was not one thing we didn’t enjoy. Well, I take that back slightly, I cannot have dairy, so I was unable to have the mac and cheese. Other than that, the food was wonderful. I loved the pot roast. It reminded me of my grandmas cooking. Not only did it taste great, but it brought back memories.

Here is a little tip for you, unless you know you are still hungry and will eat more than one round. Perhaps asking for a second round may not be the best idea. I finished the first serving, and I could not make up my mind if i wanted a little helping of pot roast. I was already stuffed, but I folded and asked for just a small pinch of pot roast. Low and behold, our server walked out with a bowl of it. And when I say a bowl of it, I mean there was probably 3-4 times the amount of the original serving in there.

I am assuming Disney already has seconds portions dished out so asking for a small amount isn’t doable. Let’s just say I made my mom have some and together we didn’t even get halfway into it. Don’t get me wrong I was very thankful for the seconds, but boy did I feel bad being wasteful.

The finale

Dessert, o my. For dessert everyone gets the ooey gooey toffee cake topped with vanilla ice cream. This giant cookie is served warm, the chocolate chips are melty, and the toffee bits are so good. I had mine without the ice cream and it was still mouthwatering. (Check out our blog about cookies at Gideons bakehouse here!)

Full and Happy

Lunch at Liberty Tree Tavern, I would definitely recommend it! The atmosphere is fun and almost puts you in a time machine. All of the food was delicious, the service from our cast member was great. He was on top of it and so kind.

If you are wanting to try this restaurant out, have Erica, our friend and travel agent help you book your trip and reservations.

Liberty Tree Tavern is a great place to have a meal and it’s also a great place to beat the heat and get some air conditioning. This place is definitely worth a stop!
