First a little about Disney Springs.
Alongside the 4 parks, 2 waterparks, ESPN grounds and a wide variety of golfing options, there is Disney Springs. Located between Disney’s Saratoga Springs Resort and Typhoon Lagoon is a really nice place to explore, shop, eat, and have some fun.
The theme to Disney Springs is evident all around and you can see little touches of the theme throughout. They say since Florida is home to a large number of freshwater springs, back in the day this would draw people in to live near fresh water. A long time ago Disney Springs was a functioning town, later abandoned, and has been since rediscovered and reinhabited. People have converted these old buildings into what Disney Springs is now. It really is a pretty neat story, made up but fun, nonetheless.
If you pay attention to the buildings, you can spot some old signs, old names, or decor hinting to the story. There is an old functioning water pump, that you pull water from. It’s just a super cute idea and it works well.
What you can find around Springs
If I could wrap Disney Springs up into one word it would be, large. You can find a plethora of shops and restaurants here. They have the most sought out store on property here, World of Disney. This large store is home to hundreds if not thousands of Disney items. Unless its Park or Resort specific merchandise, you can probably find it here. I love this store. It’s a great spot for window shopping too. It is easy to spend a lot of time and money there.
Disney Springs houses stores such as Sephora, Fabletics, Harley Davidson, Uni-Glow, The Lego Store and more. Little kiosks are sprinkled throughout the area too. Currently you can find a Corkcicle stand, Wondermade, Wetzels Pretzels, and POP Gallery, a fun card store, to name a few. They have unique boutiques such as Sugarboo and Co., Free People, and American Threads. There are even high-end stores such as Zara, Kate Spade, and Coach. You can go on your MDE to find all the stores listed.
Food
Hungry? Disney Springs has you covered. Just like the store selection, you will find a variety of places to eat. You have everything from Guy Fieri’s Chicken Guy, Planet Hollywood, and The Boathouse. If you are looking for a good burger, I recommend Deluxe Burger. Here you can find traditional and unique burgers along with a healthy helping of fries and dipping sauces. If you are looking for something a little more pocket friendly, I would recommend Earl of Sandwich. YUM!
There are special one-of-a-kind stores here too. You can find the Christmas Store, selling Christmas ornaments galore. There is The Art of Disney and Disney’s Wonderful World of Memories also. These stores are so neat to walk through. On the hunt for some beautiful Disney art, these are the shops for you.
Have a sweet tooth? You need to check out The Ganachari. You can also find the famous cookie store Giddeons Bakehouse! Check out our review here! You can get a cupcake from a cupcake ATM at Sprinkles. If you need a coffee fix there are two Starbucks locations.
For the Kids
Disney Springs is no doubt geared towards adults. However, there are some fun things for the little ones to do. Near Earl of Sandwich and the Christmas store you can find a carrousel, a train ride and a splash pad. The carrousel and train have a fee, but the splash pad is free! There is the sweet treat spot, Goofys Candy Co, where you can find all sorts of goodies. Looking for a fun dining experience for the littles? Perhaps give Rainforest Cafe or T-REX a try!
You can play a few rounds of bowling at Splitsville, catch a movie at AMC, or watch the amazing show Drawn to Life by Cirque Du Soleil and Disney! Feeling adventurous, head to Boathouse and take a car ride into the water! Sounds a little scary but the cars are actually drivable boats!
A few of my favorites!
Checking out Disney Springs can be an experience in itself. Unless you know exactly what you’re going there for it can take some time to walk around, and take it all in. One of my favorite things to do at Springs is take it slow, walk, and enjoy the shops and atmosphere. However, I will give you a quick list of some of my favorite spots to stop and shop, look around or grab some mouthwatering treats.
The list
- World of Disney. Shop till your hearts content.
- The Ganachari. Looking for some of the most decadent chocolates, this is a must.
- Deluxe Burger. Grab a bite, sit and relax.
- Marketplace Co-Op, some fun unique Disney items can be found here.
- The Christmas Store
- Basin, if you enjoy bath products this is a great store.
- Art of Disney/Wonderful World of Memories
- Giddeons Bakehouse
- Salt and Straw. A delicious spot for ice cream, they even have nondairy offerings!
- Sugarboo and Co. A very cute boutique store with a wide variety of home decor!
- Ever After Jewelry Co. and Accessories, I just like walking around and seeing all the beautiful items.
Disney is constantly adding or changing stores and restaurants. In the evenings, especially the weekends, you can find live music and entertainment through Disney Springs. There are always new things to check out!
These are just a handful of places I enjoy at Disney Springs. If you get the chance to go, I hope you can take the time to enjoy. You really can go there and not buy anything. It’s a wonderful place to window shop, or grab a snack and people watch. Hopefully this gave you an idea of what Disney Springs is like and what there is to do.
