Coronado Springs Review

Hiya Pals!

You already know we were recently in Disney, but did you know we did a split stay? What is a split stay you might ask yourself. Obviously, we stayed on Disney property because you already saw the blog about our stay at AKL, but we split our resort time and stayed at Coronado Springs too! We’ll have more on split stays at a later date so stay tuned to find out more! Let’s indeed jump right into our Coronado Springs Review!

Our Room

Coronado Springs Resort is a moderate resort and is quite large. We did online check in (if you want to know more about that see our blog) and requested to stay near a bus stop. I highly recommend doing that if you plan on staying here! It will save you a lot of steps. Our room was located in Casitas building 4. There are also other sections you can choose from including Ranchos, Cabanas and Gran Destino Tower. We had a standard room on the second floor, and it was great! There were two comfortable queen beds, a full shower and toilet in a small area as well as a double sink and an area to get ready, that can close off from the rest of the room. This was especially helpful as we had three adults and a child. It makes privacy and getting ready a lot easier. Additionally, there was a mini fridge, an armchair and a long desk with a pull-out chair available for prep space and or working on a computer. We used this area to eat as well as store our bags etc. There was plenty of room for all of us adults, and the room was nicely decorated and up to date.

Pools

Just around the corner from our room was a quiet pool, which we took full advantage of on several occasions despite the rainy weather we seemed to have. Further from our room was the main pool, Lost City of Cibola. Near the main pool is a playground, hot tub, volleyball court, arcade and pool bar. We tried going to the main pool one time during our trip and as soon as we arrived, they got shut down for unscheduled maintenance. It was a bummer, but what can you do?! We just went back to the Casitas Pool. Each pool has towels and deck chairs, but only the main pool boasts a slide. All in all, this resort has three pools, so you’re sure to find somewhere to relax poolside!

Transportation

Coronado Springs has only bus transportation to and from the parks and Disney Springs unless you’d like to spend an additional fee and get a rideshare service. One thing to note is the Bus stop rotation. As with all moderate resorts there is a set order to the stops and if you’re at the last stop chances are you might be standing to your destination. Obviously, we stayed in the casitas as I said before, luckily that was the first stop on the bus rotation. Coincidence: I think not! After that the busses stop at Ranchos, Cabanas and finally Gran Destino Tower. All the busses use this rotation, so keep that in mind as you book your stay.

Restaurants

There are a few different places to grab a bite to eat at Coronado Springs. The quick service restaurant is El Mercado de Coronado. Here you can pick up lots of tasty dishes such as pizza, sandwiches, fruit, and bowls as well as many others. They have a food court where you can enjoy your meal, or you can take it back to your room. We did both depending on the situation. You can also find Maya grill and Three Bridges which are sit down restaurants. You can make reservations at these places, but you can also walk up. Located near El Mercado de Coronado, you’ll find Cafe Rix as well as Rix Lounge. This is the sports bar on property. You can get drinks as well as a limited menu for food. Furthermore, you can find Dahlia Lounge in Gran Destino Tower. You’re sure to find something to enjoy while staying here! There are tons of different options as well as pool bars and lounges.

Our Thoughts

Even though this wasn’t our first stay at Coronado Springs Resort, it was the first time seeing it through a blogger’s eyes as well as being my mom’s first time staying here. We do love staying in the Casitas, even though it’s a little more removed from the shop, main pool and lobby, it pays off being the first bus stop. The rooms are comfortable and clean, and we love the option of having a pool close by! The Spanish influence is evident everywhere you look, and the resort grounds are absolutely gorgeous. Gran Destino Tower is without a doubt one of the most beautiful lobbies on all of Disney property, so it’s always nice to sit and admire it as well as meet new people. This will definitely not be our last time staying at this resort!
