HiYa Pals!
Are you craving a delicious meal with a touch of elegance? Want to feel Disney on a more sophisticated level? Perhaps you may desire to check out the Grand Floridian Cafe! On our trip in June, we were able to enjoy a delicious dinner at the Grand Floridian Cafe!
Location
For those who may not know, Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort is located right next to the Magic Kingdom. It is a deluxe resort! Obviously, the Grand Floridian lives up to its name, Grand!
Lobby
The main lobby is open and spacious. There are beautiful lounge areas, marble floors, and elegance placed everywhere you look. Check out a closer look at the Grand Floridian here!
The Grand Floridian is home to some amazing dining, and the Cafe is just one spot to check out! Let’s see, in detail, how our dinner went!
The Cafe
Located on the first floor of the resort, the cafe is tucked in the back of the main lobby. Upon arrival there is a front desk with cast members ready to greet you with a smile on their faces! After checking in, depending on how long the wait is, you are escorted to your seat!
Decor
We were placed at a beautiful table located in the middle of the restaurant. Our server came out immediately and gave us our menus. Meanwhile, this place is beautiful! It is the perfect mix of elegance with a touch of Disney! Next to our table was a gorgeous chocolate egg, all hand crafted and decorated by the chefs at Disney. It was incased in glass and themed to Cinderella. Furthermore, there were several of these located all around.
Secondly, we ordered our meals and were excited to dine on what was to come. First, we enjoyed bread service, some yummy rolls and butter! I don’t know how they make those rolls, but they were delicious!
Ambiance
Don’t be afraid to bring your kiddos here! Even though it has an elegant feel, it is still a Disney dinning location. The Grand Floridian Cafe is absolutely family friendly. They had a coloring mat and crayons ready to go for Krysta’s son, he loved using it and it kept him occupied! Basically, a win for all!
The Food
The food was quick to come to the table and we were ready! I ordered the Cafe Meatloaf ($22), contrarily Krysta had the Miso-glazed Salmon ($28) and finally Krysta’s son dinned on the kids Grilled Flat Iron Steak ($15). Every meal came with a meat and two sides, all of which were fantastic. For dessert I ate the Apple Crisp ($8). Krysta had the Minnie Dome ($10), while Hudson had the kids Worms and dirt.
Dinner
The Meatloaf was delicious. It was the perfect size, and the flavor was fantastic. Accordingly it is served with mashed potatoes and broccolini as sides. I do believe you can substitute sides if you desire. By comparison the Salmon Krysta had ordered came with a side of lemon sticky rice and glazed green beans. Both of which Krysta said were the perfect pairing with the salmon. Similarly, Hudson had the kid’s meal of steak with a side of green beans, opting for worms and dirt as his dessert.
Dessert
Afterwards, we dined on delicious dessert. The Apple Crisp for dessert was served hot and balanced against a scoop of coconut milk ice cream! Let me tell you, this was amazing! I didn’t know what to expect and I was pleasantly surprised. The crumble on top was mouthwatering in itself, and the ice cream was the perfect topper! 10/10 would recommend!
Krysta’s Minnie Dome looked amazing! It was the perfect little chocolate desert! It is a puff pas incased in chocolate with chocolate mickey ears and a candied flower! Lastly, Hudson fully enjoyed his worms and dirt which they serve in a small flowerpot! How fun is that?
Breakfast
In January my brother, sister-in-law and my niece dinned at the cafe a few times for breakfast and enjoyed it. Evidently one of them said “It’s amazing! We need to go back tomorrow to try more!”
Obviously, we had a great time at the Grand Floridian Cafe! It’s a wonderful way to escape the day-to-day excitement. The parks can be busy, by comparison you just need a relaxing place to sit and enjoy a great meal, which this place offers! We recommend dining here if you get the chance.
Explicitly, if you are spending the day at Magic Kingdom and feel like hoping over to the Grand Floridian for a few hours, it’s just a walk, hop on a boat, or monorail ride over!
