HiYa Pals!
Ever wonder what it’s like to spend a day at EPCOT? Have you ever wanted to explore different countries? Perhaps 11 in one day? Then look no further then EPCOTS World Showcase! Here you can spend your time strolling and exploring Canada, the United Kingdom, France, Morocco, Japan, the United States, Italy, Germany, China, Norway, and Mexico! We had a hot rainy day in Epcot, and we want to tell you all about it.
Each of these immaculate countries are built and designed as true to the country as can be. Each country houses shops and restaurants. Some offer shows and a few have rides. In France you can find Remy’s Ratatouille Adventure, in Norway you can sing along on Frozen Ever After, and in Mexico you can relax and unwind on the Gran Fiesta Tour featuring the Three Caballeros! Check out our Top 5 for Epcot here!
Epcot also offers 8 other rides! Most of which are not only a blast but educational as well! On Spaceship Earth, the first ride in the park, you are taken on a journey through time, learning how the world has progressed over years and time. Additionally, there is Finding Nemo, Soarin, Living with the Land, Journey into Imagination featuring Figment, Test Track, Mission Space, and the newest addition to the park: Guardians of the Galaxy Cosmic Rewind.
World Showcase
Since we stayed at Caribbean Beach, we were able to take advantage of the Skyliner! In the morning we took our time and got in line for the ride over around 9:30 and walked right on. Entering the Epcot Skyliner station, we are placed in World Showcase closest to the France Pavilion! We must have gotten there just in time to ride Remy’s Ratatouille Adventure; we waited in line about 20ish minutes. Exiting the ride, the lines posted time was 75 minutes. If this is a ride you are hoping to do, we suggest getting there first for the shortest wait time.
Next, we began our journey around World Showcase. Another thing to keep in mind, a majority of the restaurants and food booths do not open until 11am. So, if it is your plan to head straight back to begin your food adventure, make sure to wait until 11! We made the slight mistake of walking through just before and our options were slim at that time. However, we were able to grab a few delicious treats right away!
All the snacks!
First booth we stopped at was La Isla Fresca. Here we ordered and enjoyed a yummy frozen fruit slush priced around $4. You have the option of ordering with or without alcohol for around $11, we choose none and it was so refreshing. Continuing on, I ordered the best baclava I have ever had from a cute little stand in Morocco. At this stand you could order from a variety of Moroccan pastries! I ordered one pastry for 2.50, and I would again in a heartbeat! lol Krysta ordered a yummy fruit and cream cheese Danish!
Continuing our stroll, we stopped in Germany, and both ordered a potato pancake priced around $5. Krysta ordered one with ham, scallions and a sour cream drizzle, which looked amazing. And I ordered my potato pancakes with applesauce! I was a bit skeptical of mine, but let’s just say there was none left!
After our tummies were happy, we got in line for Frozen Ever After! This ride always has long line…..always. When I was there with my family in January, we waited about 90 minutes. Thankfully this time around the posted wait time was 75 and we waited about 40. If you have little ones or don’t feel like waiting in a long line, there is the option of Genie +, which can cut your wait time significantly!
From there we made our way over to Mexico and rode Gran Fiesta Tour! This ride is so underappreciated! It’s a slow boat ride in the air conditioning in the beautiful Mexico pavilion. Cannot go wrong. Everyone will enjoy this one!
World Celebration
Heading to the front of the park where majority of the rides are we headed to the shops to check things out! Epcot is currently undergoing a large renovation and change. There are walls up, things being added or removed, and lots of walking to be had so be prepared. It kind of makes you feel like you are in a maze.
We made our way into Creations, Connections, and made a stop in Club Cool to try different Coke flavors from around the world! The flavors are so different and unique! There is a flavor that literally tastes like barbecue sauce, but in a good way lol. Sounds gross but it was surprisingly good. There is a flavor called Beverly. O buddy don’t do it! But do it just to say you did. It is famous for being bad for a reason and I’m here to tell you it lives to that standard. Of course, everyone’s taste is different, perhaps you will like it! Best part, Club Cool is free!
From there Krysta took her son to play on the playground while I hopped in the single rider line for test track! Single rider line is where it is at! Wait time for regular que was a posted 60 minutes and I waited maybe 5 for single rider!
When I finished Test track, we made our way to the front of the park and rode Spaceship Earth and Nemo. We then headed over to The Land building and grabbed a couple treats, which were all so good. Krysta had a special 50th mousse cake. Hudson had a Mickey cupcake and I had plant-based chocolate mousse. I dream of that chocolate; it was so good! After devouring our treats, we glided through Living with the land and walked right onto Soarin!
As we were heading over to ride Figment we came across the butterfly house, so we made a quick walk through to check it out! So cute! After spending some time with some beautiful butterflies, we strolled into the next building and made a journey into imagination with Figment! This adorable little purple dragon takes you on quite a ride! The little ones will really enjoy this one!
Dinner at Rose and Crown
After spending time in the show building, we realized it was time for our dinner reservation at Rose and Crown in the United Kingdom area. Its Florida, so of course it starts torrentially downpouring on us as we make our way over. We were soaked but it was so much fun!
Once we sat down, it took no time to decide what we wanted. I ordered the Fish and Chips ($26), Krysta had the Bangers and Mash ($22), and Hudson had the kids sized fish and chips ($11) as well! For and appetizer Krysta had the Scotch Egg ($13) We all loved our food! Highly recommend eating there if you can!
The rain had finally stopped, and we were ready to end our day at Epcot. By this time, it was pushing 7:30pm and we decided to hop over to Hollywood Studios to finish out the night.
We were able to take a boat over to Hollywood! I recommend doing this. It was relaxing, fun, quick and lets you see Disney in a way you might not have thought of before! Once we made our way to the entrance, time was running short, so we were only able to ride one thing, Mickey and Minnie’s Runaway Railway! What a great way to end the day!
As you can see there is so much you can see and do at Epcot. All the food to try, all the rides to ride, and all the shopping to do. Epcot is such a special park! We hope when you are there you experience the joy. Take your time to explore the different countries. It truly is something worth your time!
