A stay at Caribbean Beach Resort

HiyaPals!

Well, we did it! We just finished our stay here at the beautifully large Caribbean Beach Resort! Now Krysta has been lucky enough to stay here on a previous trip, however this was my first stay! I honestly can say it has been wonderful! There are a few not so great aspects, but they are so minor it really didn’t have much of an impact on the day-to-day activities! So now I will fill you in on how a stay at Caribbean Beach Resort went!

Arrival

Pulling up to Caribbean Beach you are greeted with a brightly colored building, making you feel like you are entering a tropical get away! There are palm trees and exotic plants outside, taking your breath away with their delightful aroma. After collecting our luggage, we head into the main lobby named Old Port Royal! Let me tell ya, this place is gorgeous. The smell in here is divine, there really is something to what they call “Disney Smells.” If I could put this lobby in a candle I would!

The lobby is stunningly pristine with beachy touches. Everything is grand and open. There are lounging areas everywhere, and the large couches have outlets for those who need to charge a device or work on their laptops. The chandeliers are rod iron and gorgeous, with ceiling fans that look like beautiful wicker leaves. With soft colors and chairs everywhere, you are sure to feel welcomed.

Check in is directly to the left. Walk straight through and you will find yourself outside by the main pool and the restaurant Sabastian’s Bistro! From entry of the main lobby, directly to the right is the food court called Centertown Market. We were lucky enough to dine in at Sabastian’s the night of arrival! Check out a blog review on that here! Additionally, we ate twice at Centertown Market, the food was your standard quick service meals but had a decent variety to choose from and was very delish!

Finding the Room

Once we checked in the host called us a resort van and we were quickly whisked away to our part of the resort. Thank goodness for this service because Caribbean Beach is a massive place. Had there not been a van called we would have either waited for an internal resort bus or had to walk and our part of the resort was not close to the main lobby. Guessing here, but I would say at least half a mile away. So, thank goodness for the cast members here helping us out!

Caribbean Beach is broken up into different locations and named after areas of the Caribbean. We found ourselves staying in the Trinidad area, in a pirate themed room! Disney just announced they are going to be phasing out the pirate rooms. We are so lucky to spend our trip in them before they are no more.

Pirates Themed Room

These rooms are adorable. Walking in there is a table and chairs adorned with a pirate map for decoration. If you ever wanted to know what it’s like to sleep in a ship, look no further because the beds here are shaped into ships with a mast and lights to guide you in the night. Sleeping on these beds were very comfortable, and the blankets were just enough. The bathroom is spacious with plenty of storage for all. Since these rooms are a little older there is still carpet, but I honestly did not mind.

Since our trip, these adorable rooms have been updated, changed and redone to a little mermaid theme. I look forward to one day staying in the new rooms and checking them out!

We got lucky with our room location. Our room was on the first floor, corner room with two windows. Open the door and it’s just steps to the pool and bus stop. Each section of the resort has its own smaller pool, and there is also the large themed main pool. We utilized both and loved them equally. However, the main pool is well themed, has waterslides and a splash pad area for the little ones.

Caribbean Beach is located on the Skyliner route, and we were within walking distance to it! We also had a great quick service restaurant called Spyglass Grill right next to the pool. We had dinner there one evening and enjoyed it. They offer carry out or covered seating outside. We ate here while it was raining and still had a pleasant meal.

Transportation

Getting around was really easy and great! Like I stated previously we were right next to the bus stop for our area, and busses were stopping often to get us to our desired locations. We used the bus to get to Magic Kingdom and Disney Springs. And we used the Skyliner to get to Epcot, from Epcot we used a boat to get to Hollywood Studios, which I found fun and relaxing. If you are staying here, make sure to take advantage of the internal resort bus. We used it every day to get to either the main lobby, the gift shop and the main pool! It was fantastic and we would have been sad without it!

I honestly cannot say enough good things about Caribbean Beach! It’s beautiful, spacious, and makes you feel removed from the everyday. I would highly recommend staying here.

Hopefully this overview of the resort will give you a little more insight to Caribbean beach and help you decide if this is a place for you!
