Wilderness Lodge

With a warm homelike rustic feel this resort is sure to leave you in awe! Arriving at this beautiful location, you will find the entirety of the resort is built like a log cabin! It’s quite stunning.

Walking into the main building a grand fireplace will quickly catch your eye and draw you in! And feel free to sit in the many rocking chairs placed for your relaxation and enjoyment!

Lobby of the Wilderness Lodge beautifully decorated for Christmas!

Alongside every other resort on property, you will find a great gift shop with merchandise galore. Something unique to this resort, Wilderness Lodge has a spring bubbling in the lobby flowing outside, leading toward the main pool! How cool is that!

Food

As you can imagine, a place like this needs some pretty spectacular food options. And they do not disappoint. At Wilderness Lodge you will find one of Disney’s newest character dining experiences, Story Book Dining at Artist’s Point. Here you will find a delightful menu with unique dishes.

Inside Storybook Dining

Here you get to meet Dopey, Grumpy, Snow White and the Evil Queen herself. Seated in a whimsical forest-like dining room you are sure to have a spectacular time!

Two Cutie Pies

A highly sought-after dining location is whispering-canyon cafe. They offer breakfast, lunch and dinner, serving you family style in individual skillets! How fun!

Make sure to take advantage of their quick service dining at Roaring Forks. Again, offering breakfast, lunch and dinner. A fantastic outside restaurant seating you on the lake is Geyser Point Bar and Grill! Looking for a quick drink? Check out Territory Lounge!

Rooms and Amenities

Wilderness Lodge offers an extensive list of rooms, villas, and even cabins for your vacation needs and wants.

You have the ability to stay in standard rooms, standard garden view rooms, rooms on club level with special offerings. 1,2-, and three-bedroom villas. Deluxe studios and waterside cabins which can sleep up to 8 guests. All of these come with a high price tag.

If you’re wanting a free price quote for this resort and others, use our friend and Disney travel agent Erica! She is wonderful!

The amenities this resort provides are just as great as the resort itself. There is a full spa, full gym, resort concierge, beautiful pools, and much more.

Alongside the amenities, you have access to bus transportation, Minnie vans, and boat rides directly to Magic kingdom! And one of my personal favorites, all of the resorts on the lake give you the fun chance to watch the Water Parade at night!

The Contemporary Resort

Where to start with this Disney icon? At this magical place you can find a rich history, newly renovated rooms, and beautiful artwork as tall as the building, keep an eye out for the special goat!

There are fantastic restaurants, awesome gift shops, and how cool the monorail drives through the building while on its loop! If you don’t feel like hopping on the monorail, you are literally a stone’s throw from the magic kingdom, you can walk there in less than 10 minutes!

Restaurants

If you want quick, characters, fancy, or a nice sit-down spot there is a place for you to eat here! In the main lobby you can find Contempo Cafe, which offers grab and go items!

Next to Contempo Cafe is Chef Mickeys! Here you eat some yummy food and meet Mickey, Minnie, Donald, Daisy, Pluto and Goofy.

We had brunch there our last trip and loved every minute of it! The food was bountiful, and they even catered to my brother, who has food allergies. Not only do you get to see your favorite characters, but the service and care was wonderful!

Iconic Mickey Waffles which are very delish!

A new addition to the Contemporary is Steakhouse71. Alongside traditional steakhouse offerings, you can find a favorite dish or two of Walt Disney’s! There is always something delicious to dive into! See what we have to say about dinner at Steakhouse71.

On the very top floor of the Contemporary is California Grill. Here you will be treated to award winning food and experiences. If you plan your dinner at the right time, you could watch the nighttime fireworks show from Magic Kingdom! Truly, it is an experience to remember.

Very recently most of the rooms have been redesigned and redecorated to the theme of the Incredibles! If you or your littles love the Incredibles, this may be the place for you!

Having Magic Kingdom as your neighbor, you can bet there are park view rooms! The Contemporary also offers garden, pool, and lake view rooms, standard rooms, suites, and more.

At the Contemporary you will find two pools, hot tubs, water slides and more outdoor fun. Staying on site will give you access to a full gym, room service, boat rentals and the list goes on!

The Polynesian

Much like the other resorts, there are several places to dine, all at different price points. One of the most sought-after places is here at Ohanas! This divine restaurant is located in the main building on the second floor. Here they offer breakfast, lunch and dinner.

I have had the pleasure of experiencing both breakfast and dinner here and holy smokes folks! Wow! This place has incredible theming, amazing food, and a view of the castle and fireworks that are hard to beat. 10/10 would recommend!

Also offered here are the delicious Kona Cafe, Captain Cooks, Tambu lounge, Trader Sams, and the Pineapple Lani just to name a few! All mouthwatering fantasticness!

Want to get to the park quickly? You have choices! You can hop on a boat and head to Magic Kingdom, take the monorail to Epcot or get on a bus to Hollywood studios or animal kingdom!

At the Polynesian they offer spa services, have two pools, loads of kids’ activities, and great poolside bars. You can even sit on the beach at night, with a yummy dole whip, relax and watch the fireworks! It calls me!
